Think Dignity is a non-profit in San Diego that focuses on hands-on advocacy. Our strength lies in our collaborative, volunteer-based model. Each of us doing our small part makes a big difference, and working together can make the world a better place.
The Street Boutique, part of Think Dignity’s MOD (Mobile Operations of Dignity) Squad, is aimed at providing homeless folks with access to menstrual and incontinence products, as well as new undergarments such as bras and underwear. Additionally, access to these items will allow folks to stay cleaner and healthier, may increase levels of self-esteem, and has the potential to increase the likelihood for someone to obtain a job or get off the streets.
This April, Think Dignity’s MOD Squad will “Spring Into a New You.” This collaboration with The Street Boutique, the San Diego Central Library, and a large number of employers in the San Diego area will bring together the homeless folks ready to work. By providing professional clothes donated by the San Diego community, individuals will be able to pick out clothes for job interviews and be able to speak and interview directly with employers. Providing this type of collaboration allows us to bridge the gap that our homeless folks may struggle to achieve.
