On October 25, 2017, leaders of the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives will bestow Filipino veterans of World War II with the Congressional Gold Medal. These veterans fought alongside American soldiers to defend the United States, but after the war were deprived of the military benefits they were promised in exchange for their sacrifice.
As only one physical medal will be minted for the collective veterans, the National Filipino American Lawyers Association (NFALA) is raising funds to support the Filipino Veterans Recognition and Education Project (FilVetREP) and its campaign to obtain replicas for individual veterans and their families as well as long-term efforts to promote legacy preservation and educational programs nationwide.
FALSD is proud to provide funding for the minting of ten medal replicas.
FALSD is a NFALA affiliate.
If you would also like to donate, please visit NFALA’s fundraising page for FilVetREP . On this page, you may also indicate your affiliation with FALSD.
Your contributions will go directly to the Filipino Veterans Recognition and Education Project, an IRS approved 501c(3), tax exempt, nonprofit, charitable organization since Jan 14, 2015.
